PS Kayula Siame

LUSAKA, Tuesday, April 6th, 2021 – Ministry of Higher Education Permanent Secretary Kayula Siame has urged students offered scholarships by Zimbabwean President, Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa to work hard and make Zambia proud as a country.

Ms. Siame said this at her office this morning when she bade farewell to five students who will be pursuing Bachelor programmes in various fields of Science such as Agriculture Engineering, Food and Technology, Biotechnology and Science Fisheries at the Chinhoyi University of Technology in Zimbabwe.

The Permanent secretary said Government was making sure that more female students have access to higher education as she addressed the four female students and one male who are beneficiaries of the scholarship.

She noted that for a long-time, more male students accessed higher education programmes as compared to their female counterparts.

Ms. Siame reminded the students that the scholarship was prestigious.

“The scholarship that you are on is a prestigious scholarship. You can imagine if you go
there and you don’t do well or you don’t behave very well, it will not look well on
Zambia, “she said.
